Because it was 97 degrees - "119 degrees with the relative humidity," the radio guy said - we opted for in-door fun. Carter and I made bracelets. Grandma and I cleaned out the bead drawers at home a few weeks ago. I thought she'd really have to work at threading the tiny beads on her pipe cleaner, but like everything else she does, she surprised me with the ease and confidence she worked with! She had a ball with these simply, little bracelets!
I showed her how to bead them, "find the tiny hole, push the wire in and pull the bead gently. Then hold the end and pull the bead to the bottom." As she worked, so carefully and attentively!, she repeated each and every instructional word I'd told her!
TA DA! Carter's first bracelet. "Maybe tomorrow I can make Daddy a necklace!" she told me. I'm sure he'd love that!
