Carter fought routine last night (she cried and boo-hoo'ed for almost 40 minutes over being put in her crib at 8:15pm for bed!), but today is better. She slept in until about 7:30am, and was ready for breakfast and running laps around the house!
But right after breakfast, we brushed our tooth! Carter's first toothbrushing experience went well. She actually seemed to like it! Maybe the bristles feel good on the coming teeth!
It was a fun day of firsts: first with the toothbrushing, then our first parade! Summerfest is this weekend, and we went to the parade (sidenote: thank you, Tim, for checking on parade times. We told Andy and Tim we'd pick them up at 9:30am for the 10am parade, but it started at 9am! Oops! I guess my brain is still in Hawaii!)
Carter (slicked down not once, but twice in sunblock!) enjoyed the parade. Her favorite part: the Wells Fargo horses! She was amazed by them!
She also got some cool beads (for a donation. A donation at a parade?!? That's a little unnecessary, but whatever, I guess ...). We thought she'd be a candy-magnet, but I guess she looked too little for candy. Don't kid yourself - the 4 of us would have eaten most of it, anyway! But she did score a cherry Dum-Dum, and loved it! She only got to suck on it until she could potentially get the sucker from the stick, but it still lasted quite awhile, and she loved it!
Parades rules!
