March 29, 2006: Andy has left us ... but will return. He's gone to Vegas on business, so it's just Carter and Mom for the week. What a cute pair we make! I love this kid!!!

March 28, 2006: Who knew that a heavy metal sauce pan and a Pampered Chef bamboo spoon could be so much fun?!? Carter banged, drummed, pounded and clattered on the pan for nearly 30 minutes. She had a blast! ... it's nice to know that we went overboard at Christmas on toys that could be replaced with a pan and spoon!
March 25, 2006: What do you do with two maniac little girls?? Take them to Chucky Cheese, of course! The ADD-capital of the world, consumed with lingering infestations of pink-eye around every corner! As crazy as it sounds, Mackenzie, Andy Haning and I braved it, and took Carter and Natalie (3 1/2) for a day of crappy pizza and the excitement of the rides and games. The girls enjoyed it: Natalie loved the games and all her tickets, and Carter had fun on the rides. It was a good time, despite the abundance of rugrats running all over!
March 23, 2006: Good Lord! Look at this kid's hair! At 7 months, she is shaggy and out of control! So we went to the best beautician on the planet: Aunt Hill (Hillary Blenner, Manager of the Cost Cutters at 86th and Meredith in Johnston - she IS the best!). She put Punky in the big-girl chair, and was patient and did a smashing job! Carter also did great! She didn't act up at all! After: STILL cute, but CUTE with manageable hair!
March 23, 2006: What a PERFECT Sunday afternoon! THE fabulous (but lazy!!) Andy, Sammy curled up at his feet, and Carter flipping through a book! It doesn't get better than this!
March 22, 2006: Meet Carter's good friends: Grant (left) and Collin (right) Bumsted. The boys got their first professional baby pictures taken by the lovely and wondeful Mackenzie Duncan at Stalzer Photography in Marshalltown (there's the first half of my shameless plug for her! She's AMAZING!). Don't the boys look dauper today?! Carter seemed amazed by our favorite men, and even a little smitten with Collin??? I guess it's a good thing she likes them - she's as stuck with those boys as Kelsey is stuck with me!!!

March 20, 2006: Isn't Carter wonderful? Duh, I'm the Mom, of COURSE she's perfect! But I honest to goodness wouldn't change anything about her (except maybe for the afore-mentioned green lips!). No amount of sweet potato spit up, or cranky early mornings would ever make me love her any less than I do right now. She's is amazing and wonderful, and something to be thankful for everyday. Sniff, sniff ...
March 19, 2006: I'll be damned ... We were grocery shopping this afternoon, and Carter got ahold of the list, like usual. I, however, had written it in green marker. When she slobbered all over it, like she does, the marker ran all over her mouth. I've got to be a fore-runner for "Mother of the Year."
March 13, 2006: Seriously, she's nuts! Someone call for help - Carter has LOST IT!
March 12, 2006: Carter is the total package! She's got the beauty and the brains, AND she's willing to pitch in and help take down the messy wallpaper at Amy's house! What a champ!
March 9, 2006... not only does she think this song is about her, she thinks it's ALL about her. And who am I kidding??? It IS!
March 8, 2006: Carter loves many things: greeny beanies, the cat, gazing into the twirling ceiling fan. But she nothing makes her happier then spending time with her Daddy! She is definately a Daddy's Girl (spoiled little sh*t!)
March 5, 2006: Courtney was baptized today, and the girls got to spend all afternoon together, hamming it up! It's amazing: they are close cousins (born almost exactly one-month apart) and obviously share SOME genes, but act NOTHING alike! Courtney is very fine-motor skill-oriented, while Carter likes to bang on things and move all over the place. Super ... looks like we got the wild, crazy Chalupa! On second thought ... look at all of us ... maybe just BEING a Chalupa makes you a little crazy!
